According to ABC News Internet Ventures (2015), there is a video showing an evidence in which throughout the year of 2012 the number of searches over the Google searching engine regarding the term "haemorrhoids" are getting higher up as compared to the previous years. From here, it can indirectly making an assumption that people are getting more and more concern regarding this issue, also, they are doing this because solutions are out there for them to get away from those nightmares of surgery. But, it isn't a reason for you to be embarrassed of, because you are not the only one who are infected with this trouble-causing disease, even I am "still" one of the big fans of this growing trend. To be honest to you, although this problem has generated a lot of troubles and as well causing a lot of restrictions for me from doing certain activities that I wanted to do, and it has been several years since the last time I found out the symptoms on my bowel. But, what I always believe is that, if you can change your living habits and control yourself on what is supposed and what is not supposed, then no one can stop you from doing activities that you wanted to do, and it is possible for us to get away from those surgical doctors as well.

DESCRIPTION

Hemorrhoids or at some of the times known as piles are the abnormal swelling in the blood vessels around the anus and lower rectum that stretch under pressure which is due to a certain factors that lead to the pressure being focused in the rectal veins (Moynihan & Ginsburg, 2010). According to the statement from Health Update (n.d.), factors leading to this increased in pressure can be consisted of a normal body posture, straining on bowel movements, straining on lifting heavy objects, long-term sitting, prolonged constipation, prolonged diarrhea, obesity, trauma, and pregnancy. Also, a proper diagnosis has to be made by seeking proper indication through doctors to indicate the appearances as well as the seriousness of the hemorrhoids, this has to be done as the bleeding symptoms of the rectum could be due to other digestive diseases including colorectal cancer as well (Moynihan & Ginsburg). The symptoms of hemorrhoids can be divided into two types, the internal hemorrhoids as well as the external hemorrhoids. External hemorrhoids are those that appear on the outer surface of the anus, and are usually the most uncomfortable as compared to the internal one (Bottom Line Publications, 2007). Whereas, the internal hemorrhoids are those that are usually painless which located deep inside the portions of the anal canal as well as the rectum, and as opposite to the external one, this particular type of hemorrhoids are usually being identified through the presence of blood on the toilet paper or on the bowl (Bottom Line Publications).

SYMPTOMS

Although the amounts of us who are experiencing hemorrhoids may not really facing the same kind of symptoms but some of the common symptoms may certainly exist. The most common symptom for internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on the toilet paper, or on the toilet bowl, and it comes without any feelings of pain or discomfort (Moynihan & Ginsburg). The internal hemorrhoids are undeniably the beginning stage of external hemorrhoids, as it can be penetrated through the anus and causing a huge irritation especially during bowel movement which spells the ending stage of internal hemorrhoids with the substitution of a more serious stage, namely, the external hemorrhoids (Moynihan & Ginsburg). Often, the most obvious ways of identifying hemorrhoids are come with the symptoms like pain during bowel movements or incomplete bowel movements, a small piece of lump felt at the opening of the anus, itchiness on the rectum, as well as a small amount of blood on the stool or toilet paper (Health Update).

TREATMENTS

Through the medical way, the treatments for hemorrhoids are initially aimed at relieving the seriousness of the symptoms, and these includes, warm baths of up to 3 to 4 times each day, application of medicated cream onto the affected area at the appropriate time as indicated on the cream itself, application of ice packs to aid on reducing swell, as well as the stool softener or known as the fiber supplements such as Colace and Senekot (Moynihan & Ginsburg). However, if the situation is getting worse, a proper surgery is still strongly preferred to be carried out, in which it can be in the forms of rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, and etcetera (Moynihan & Ginsburg).

PREVENTIONS

A proper prevention is in a different way than the treatments made which is mainly aimed at changing the pressure being imposed on the affected area of hemorrhoids (Moynihan & Ginsburg). An adequate amount of dietary fiber consumption as well as a plenty of water consumption which is fixed to an amount of 6 to 8 glasses each day with the total elimination of alcohol contents as well as alcoholic substances (Moynihan & Ginsburg). Last but not least, a proper bowel movement without straining is also vital in which it may also helps in preventing the protrusion of hemorrhoids especially during defecation (Moynihan & Ginsburg).

An Adequate Amount Of Can Be Obtained From:-

1.  Substitution of high-fiber foods with low fiber foods, for example, whole-grain bread with ordinary white bread.
2.  Consumption of raw vegetables as well as fresh fruits, as the fiber contents of cooked vegetable are undeniably lower as compared to raw vegetables.
